BUYING A HOUSE IN ITALY

You

If you decide to carry out your own searches you need to obtain all documentation relating to the property from the seller. This is the perfect time to ask if there is anything which may affect your decision to buy.

To buy a house and carry out checks you have to be in possession of the following documents which are also issued at your local Land Registry Office ( Ufficio del Territorio, see GETTING STARTED LINKS):

  • Visura Catastale
  • Planimetria
  • Visura Ipotecaria issued at Uffici di Conservatoria

If you are buying through an Estate agent they might already have these documents. If you don’t know what you’re doing it can be a bit tricky so leave it to the professionals.
